Goin’ swimmin’

After our big day Saturday, Leyton made sure Saturday night was equally as exciting.

After playing outside some more after her nap, because an entire day out in a dirt arena just wasn’t enough, I guess she thought she needed to cool off some.

I was getting Brandon’s supper plate ready since he had just arrived home, and I heard her talking and getting excited about something on the other side of the kitchen. And then I saw bare cheeks (the rear kind) prancing across my kitchen. My little jaybird was adorned in nothing but her hairbow, running to her room with all her clothes in her hands.

“Leyton, what are you doing!? Why are you naked!?”

“I goin’ swimmin, Mama,” she replied, as she was running back into the kitchen. (I mean, let’s not lose sight of the fact that she took her dirty clothes to her room here. She could really teach her daddy some tricks.)

Um, swimming? Come again?

And then she splashed into a big puddle in the corner of the kitchen. A puddle she had created with her squeeze water bottle.

“I goin’ swimmin’!” she continued to squeal, splashing and laying down in her puddle for full effect.

Toddlers. Where do they even come up with this stuff?
