Free ranging baby

by Katie on October 1, 2013

I knew this would come sooner than I wanted, just because we’ve always been impressed with our girl’s strength, but it is now officially official:  we have a free-ranging baby in our house.

She’s been scooting and rolling anywhere she wanted for quite some time now, but her ability to travel on all fours has definitely made her more adventurous.

This was her first “escape” from our cave a living room (turned baby playground):

Those flip flops on the floor in that picture were probably what lured her out there. She has some kind of flip flop fetish, so I always had to kick them off before I entered the baby dungeon to make sure they didn’t end up in her mouth. Now? They just entice her to escape.

She looks so innocent:

Her newfound pure freedom has already led her into places she shouldn’t be. Aside from her affinity for flip flops, she has also decided she loves the table beneath our TV.

Now, is practicing her monkey skills so bad? No. But I imagine cases like the one below may not always end so well for her sweet little noggin when it meets the rod iron rails. Just a hunch.

Needless to say, she’s keeping us a little more “on our toes” lately. But I imagine this is just the tip of the iceberg.
