Breakfast chatter

by Katie on February 22, 2013

Since I’ve been a little otherwise occupied lately, Brandon has been hanging around a little later in the mornings to spend a little time with his girl and make breakfast for his first love. And we’re not talking pour-me-a-bowl-of-cereal breakfast. We’re talking real breakfast. A man’s breakfast, if you will. And these days, I’ll take two, please.

Anyway, we’ve had a really good past couple of days around here and he was running a little late this morning, so I made breakfast for the second time in the past 20 days.

I made the same breakfast sandwiches he made yesterday, only instead of toasting the bread, I put it on the griddle where I cooked the bacon and eggs. Way better, right?

But of course, Brandon “complained” (in quotes because it was more of a tease than an actual complaint) about the bread not being ready for him to consume when he entered the kitchen.

“It would be ready if you put it in the toaster.”

“Not if I put it in the toaster the same time I put it on the griddle,” I retorted.

“Geez, I make you breakfast for three weeks and you can’t even have it ready one day? How do you sleep at night?”

“Um, I currently don’t, remember?”

“Oh yeah…”
