Before we had TV

by Katie on December 30, 2012

Saturday night, we enjoyed a lovely dinner out with some out of town friends. By the time we got home, it was well past our normal time to turn in, especially in the winter. On top of that, I’m not sleeping so great these days, so I was beyond ready to hit the hay.

But after we got home and changed into nighttime attire, Brandon announced he was going to watch TV. In the living room, since even though we have joined the TV culture, I still adamantly refuse to ever have one in our bedroom.

“Seriously?” I asked, “It’s after nine o’clock. That’s like an hour past our bedtime. I’m going to sleep.”

Five minutes later, I was snuggled under the covers and he returned the room.

“Are you really going to bed right now?”

“Brandon, it’s 9:15pm. Any other night you would be crawling in bed with me.”

“Yes.  But that was before we had TV.”
