What’re you doing today?

by Katie on April 27, 2011

Despite the fact that we work together every day, for the same company (ours), we still often find ourselves asking each other this question: “So, what’re you doing today?”

Not because we’re checking up on each other; because sometimes we really don’t know.

For example, Brandon, for the most part, has no idea what day bills and taxes are due, so he doesn’t know when I need to spend at least half a day at my desk taking care of that business. And, other than when we’re smack dab in the middle of hay baling or planting/harvesting, I have no idea when certain crop-growing activities need to take place.

But, often, the answer has about 15 parts to it, making it quite lengthy.

I guess because of this, we’ve both started using a standard, blanket response to this question:

“Farmin’, Baby. Farmin’.”

While not all that descriptive, it’s accurate. And effective.
